Mr. Jim Li has multiple offshore engineering degrees, and has more than 25 years of hands-on offshore industrial experience. Mr. Li is an expert on designing various offshore platforms, including deepwater platforms. He is also the founder of a number of offshore engineering companies, of which he took critical positions. His experience has garnered him profound understanding of the international offshore market, key pieces of technology, and insight to the future direction of the industry.

Mr. Li has extensive experience in the design of various offshore platforms. He was responsible for the design of a number of TLPs and spars, multiple semi-submersibles, FPSOs and deepwater jackets, a compliant tower, as well as many other conventional structures.

As an entrepreneur, Mr. Li founded Ocean Dynamics LLC (ODL) in 2005 and led ODL to become the world’s leading engineering firm for deepwater jacket design, various floating system design, and offshore floatover design. After ODL’s success in multiple projects, the company was acquired by an international public company. Mr. Li and ODL contributed to this company’s successful transformation into the world’s leading offshore floatover installation contractor.

In 2011, Mr. Li founded OffshoreTech LLC (OTL) with Dr. Wei Ye and Dr. Alex Ran, which developed into an offshore technology company with advanced engineering capabilities on offshore pre-service and various floating and fixed structures.

During his years occupying various positions within the offshore engineering industry, Mr. Li has had the opportunity to work with a wide variety of companies, experts, and executives. Thus, he has gained a deep understanding of the offshore market, network, and technologies. Mr. Li has critical knowledge of how a Chinese company can enter into the international offshore market, as well as how to develop and manage a successful offshore engineering and technology company.
