OTL performed the study and basic design for the first DP (Dynamic Positioning) floatover for CNOOC. The conclusion of this study is that floatover with a dynamic positioning system is feasible when weather conditions are reasonably defined, the fenders are wlel designed, and the installation vessel is carefully maneuvered.
This positions OTL as pioneers and advanced designers of DP floatover methodology. OTL will continue to develop this capability for deep and shallow water where the complexity in the seabed does not allow for anchor dropping.
