OTL has been awarded the Pre-FEED of a Compliant Piled Tower by CNOOC. A compliant piled tower is a deepwater slender bottom founded a fixed structure that dynamically detuned to the environment loadings. Similar to jacket platform, the compliant tower can accommodate large number of wells, perform conventional drilling and production operations, and adaptive to conventional jacket fabrication and installation. However compliant tower is significantly lighter in steel weight than the jacket for the same water depth.

OTL’s scope of works includes the design of the compliant tower to suit the Liuhua 11-1 field water depth, topside weight, and environment. OTL will perform the time-domain random wave structural analysis to cope with the nonlinearities of the hydrodynamic loadings, pile-soil interactions, and p-delta effect. OTL will also perform all necessary analyses and design for the in-place and pre-services conditions to justify the feasibility of the concept for the specific site requirement.
