On the 23rd and 24th of September 2014, PETRONAS organized their first ever Novel Conference held at the Grand Hyatt, Kuala Lumpur. OffshoreTech Malaysia was honored to be one of the exhibitors and presenters at this prestigious event, along with seven other oil and gas companies, which included Technip, Aker, and SBM.

The objective of the PETRONAS Offshore Novel Technology & Technical Sharing 2014 is to create a forum for gathering available innovative industry technology from all over the globe. Part of the event agenda was a series of presentations by industry players to present their latest technological concepts on floating and fixed structures, especially for small fields and deepwater blocks.

The welcoming speech was done by En. Ahmad Zabidi M. Aris, PETRONAS's Head of Engineering Solutions (DES). In addition to having an exhibition booth for showcasing OffshoreTech's new technologies, we also had the privilege of presenting two papers during the conference: one by Mr. Jim Li, "A Gravity Based Reusable minimum Platform," and by Dr. Alex Ran, "Shallow Water Mooring."

OffshoreTech Malaysia took the opportunity to meet and build relationships with various departments in PETRONAS as well as with other exhibitors. We consider this conference a great success, wherein OTM has gained great exposure and the potential for new business opportunities and partnerships.
